Giant's Aaron Home to lead BWA State League All-Stars

The Baseball WA All-Stars team has been named ahead of Friday's Spring Training game against the Heat

The Perth Heat's first Spring Training game has been confirmed, with the 15 x Claxton Shield champions to take on a Baseball WA State League All-Stars on November 9 at the Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark.

After leading the Wanneroo Giants to last year's State League Grand Final, Aaron Home has been named Head Coach of the All-Stars with Morley Eagles' Chris House his assistant.

"It means quite a bit," Home said. "I'm very honoured and happy to be asked in the first place (to coach the team)."It shows I'm doing the right thing. It's good to be recognised by your peers and the people above."

With 25 of Baseball WA's top players selected for the game, Home says his team are determined to spring an upset against their more fancied opponents. "These guys don't like losing, especially to the Perth Heat," he said.

"There will be some pride and individual battles between a few guys. It's going to be a fun night, I know we're going to take it 100% serious and beat them."

The game will be extra special for Matt Dixon, Mike Hart and Adam Courcha, with the trio having represented the Heat during the 2017/18 Australian Baseball League season. The first pitch will be thrown from 7.05pm before the Heat take on the Old Heat a day later on November 10.
